Alongside the two fundamental objectives of training and research, the University pursues a third mission, that is, it works to encourage the direct application, enhancement and use of knowledge to contribute to the social, cultural and economic development of society. In this perspective, each structure within the University is committed to communicating and disseminating knowledge through a direct relationship with the territory and with all its players.
The University is traditionally thought of as the place assigned to higher education and research, but it also has the objective of dialogue with society. By contributing to the social, cultural and economic development of the host society, the University is called to build a bridge with industry, civil society and the local area.
Third Mission of universities means the set of activities with which universities interact directly with society and their reference territory, both through actions for the economic valorisation of knowledge and more generally through cultural activities and events.
