The Department Council is composed of all tenured professors, tenured and fixed-term researchers belonging to the Department, the Administrative Secretary, two representatives of the assignees and PhD students and two representatives of the trainees, student representatives to an extent equal to 15% of the entire college, as well as representatives of the technical-administrative staff.
It is the deliberative, guiding, and supervisory body of the Department and exercises all the powers relating to the planning of the Department's activities, analytically detailed in the Department Regulations.

For the purposes of transparency (Italian Law 241/90), the minutes of the sessions are not published, but they are available upon request from interested parties with a direct, concrete, and current interest, linked to a legally protected situation and the requested document. Anyone can examine administrative documents free of charge; if a copy of the documents (or an extract from them) is requested, delivery may be subject only to reimbursement of the reproduction cost, except for various provisions (stamps, research rights, etc.).
