Problemi generali e specifici della comunicazione linguistica
La linea di ricerca è articolata in due direzioni. La prima considera sia la varietà delle forme della comunicazione linguistica, sia le diverse teorie linguistico-comunicative che cercano di darne ragione, sia ancora le difficoltà tuttora insolute cui occorre nondimeno dare risposta per potere elaborare una teoria del linguaggio unitaria, pur a fronte delle molteplici differenze tipologiche, grammaticali (fonologiche, morfosintattiche, semantico-lessicali) e pragmatico-culturali che separano l’una lingua dall’altra. La seconda, privilegiando l’aspetto semantico, è focalizzata sulle problematiche relative alla necessità di esaminare in maniera unitaria e consequenziale i vari livelli linguistici.
General and specific problems of linguistic communication
The research focuses on two different aspects. The former deals with linguistic communication forms, the various communicative-linguistic theories lying behind them and the still unsolved issues which require to be solved in order to be able to conceive a unitary language theory, regardless of the several typological, grammatical (i.e. phonologic, morphosyntactic, lexico-semantic) and cultural-pragmatic differences separating a language from another. The latter, favouring the semantic aspect, focuses on the need of examining the different linguistic levels in a unitary and consequential way.

Strutture della lingua inglese, didattica della lingua e traduzione
La linea di ricerca riguarda lo studio e l’approfondimento della lingua inglese ed è articolato in tre direzioni, la prima descrittiva e didattico-applicativa, la seconda di analisi e approfondimento teorico delle strutture della lingua, sia in relazione a ciascuna di esse, sia in relazione ad aspetti più dettagliatamente esaminati (i verbi, fonetica e fonologia); la terza di natura traduttologica
English language structures, language teaching and translation
The research focuses on the study of the English language. It is structured in three different aspects, that is a descriptive and teaching related one, an in-depth analysis of the theoretical structures of the English language carried out both at a general structural level and at particular ones (i.e. verbs, phonetics, phonology etc), while the third aspect deals with translation.
